Setting Your Course...

Where are you going?

Your ability, as a leader, to plan and execute organizational and leadership strategy (action plan for the future) is the most important capability you must have.

My experience has shown that the inability of senior leaders and their teams to execute strategy is the greatest cause of failure in fulfilling their mission, realizing their vision and reaching their stated goals along the way.

Five principles of successful strategy execution:

  1. Translate your strategy into daily operational terms.
  2. Align your organizational structure to your strategy.
  3. Make strategy everyone’s every day job.
  4. Make strategic planning an ongoing process.
  5. Mobilize change through strong effective leaders who are able to bring about consensus without poles or votes.

Five keys to your organization’s future direction and success:

  1. Creating operational value from organizational alignment.
  2. Measuring effectively individual contribution and the collective effort of entire team.
  3. Formulating strategy maps that maximize value for those we serve.
  4. Making strategy execution a core competency.
  5. Actively manage change/innovation like any other core value and process.
